Drivers’ Behaviour and Risk Perception among Haulage Companies in Rivers State, Nigeria

The study examined the risk perception influence on drivers’ behaviour (violations) among haulage companies in Rivers State, Nigeria. A total of 210 copies questionnaire was administered 20 and retrieved were analysed using descriptive inferential statistics such as frequency counts, percentage spearman rank. findings revealed that drivers hardly ever involve violations “pull out a junction so far driver with right way has to stop let you out” (41.4%), “stay motorway lane know will be closed ahead until last minute before forcing your into other lane” (67.6%) never disregarded speed limit residential road (70.7%); however, they occasionally drive close car front it would difficult an emergency (51.0%). From rank analysis, there is statistically significant relationship between Risk Perception Index (RP_Index) Ordinary Violation (OV_index) (where p-value < 0.05 p = 0.000). correlation coefficient (r) analysis showed RV_Index AV_index weak positively correlated (were r 0.256). It concluded extent by have their violation behaviour, tends positive.
